In the MoMA Collection

The Museum of Modern Art has played a pivotal role in the evolution of modern design since 1932, when MoMA created the world’s first curatorial department devoted to architecture and design. Through its influential exhibitions, acquisitions, and competitions, the Museum promoted the values of “Good Design.” The design collection now includes more than 3,700 design objects and textiles, and many items, like those below, are represented in the Museum’s collection.

Founded in 1935, MoMA's Film Department includes more than 22,000 films and four million film stills. Inspired by the department's exhibitions and screenings, we've organized an offering of entertaining and educational products that explore the magic of the moving image.

Edvard Munch

The MoMA Design Store is offering a selection of products in conjunction with The Museum of Modern Art's presentation of Edvard Munch's The Scream (1895). The pastel-on-paper-on-cardboard version of Munch's stark portrayal of the human condition is one of four created by the artist. MoMA's showing marks the first time it will be seen publicly in New York.
