Product Description

Riedel Sommelier's Burgundy Grand Cru Wine Glass

Renowned for pioneering stemware that perfectly complements the wine it holds, Riedel is a ubiquitous presence in fine restaurants and the homes of wine enthusiasts alike. Professor Claus J. Riedel was the first designer to recognize that the bouquet, balance, and finish of wines was affected by the shape of the glass in which they were consumed, and he sought to create the perfect vessels to capture the flavor and complexity of each varietal. With it's massive 30-ounce capacity, the Sommelier's Burgundy Grand Cru could pass for a design gimmick, but don't make no mistake—it's a precision instrument. The large bowl brings out the full depth of young and mature wines made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes, allowing for aroma and texture to be amplified for maximum drinking pleasure. This fine lead crystal glass is mouth-blown in Austria and featured in the Museum's collection alongside Riedel's other classic designs.
