Ball Bearing Key Chain
This key chain is adapted from Sven Wingquist's Self-Aligning Ball Bearing, designed in 1907. First shown in the 1934 MoMA exhibition Machine Art as an early example of "the aesthetic qualities of industrial design," it has become an icon of the Museum's collection. The inner parts are movable, as the ball bearings rotate and the inner ring swivels outward. Made for MoMA of stainless steel, with the MoMA logo etched on the outer ring.
