Color and Form Blocks
Karen Hewitt, 2009
This Bauhaus-inspired building and design toy is based on the ideas of Wassily Kandinsky, an artist and teacher at the Bauhaus. Kandinsky was interested in the relationship between primary forms and color and in 1923, began studying the connection by circulating a questionnaire to Bauhaus students and faculty. This set, based on his findings, features nine hardwood blocks, nine small hardwood trays, one wood container, and an information booklet. For ages 2 and up.
Product selected to accompany Bauhaus 1919–1933: Workshops for Modernity.
