Product Description

Lampadina Table Lamp

This striking table lamp was designed by Italian designer and architect Achille Castiglioni, whose work is represented in the Museum's collection. The fixture is composed of a large light bulb sanded on one side to control glare, a socket with a switch, and a base made of anodized aluminum, convenient for rolling up the excess wire. Includes one 40W medium G40 incandescent bulb. Made by Flos.

About the Designer

Achille Castiglioni

The legendary Italian architect and industrial designer Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) is renowned worldwide as a teacher and pioneer of twentieth-century design. Best known for his furniture, lighting, and exhibition work, he created finely styled, expressive, highly imaginative designs for items as diverse as vacuum cleaners and bathroom fixtures. In collaboration with his brother Pier Giacomo until 1968, he used experimental and traditional forms, and new technology to create objects in diverse materials. MoMA celebrates the legacy of this great master and inspiration.
