Miniature Chair, Breuer B3 Wassily Chair
Marcel Breuer, 1925
These collectible miniatures painstakingly replicate important chairs in the development of twentieth-century furniture design many represented in MoMA's design collection. Each chair is crafted in the original materials and is packed in its own wooden shipping crate with a descriptive brochure. The original chair was the first design to introduce seamless steel tubing to home furnishings, created by Marcel Breuer for fellow Bauhaus teacher Wassily Kandinsky. Made of nickel-plated tubular steel and leather, it is reproduced here at a scale of 1:6.
