Miniature Chair, Eames Lounge and Ottoman
Charles and Ray Eames, 1956
These collectible miniatures painstakingly replicate important chairs in the development of twentieth-century furniture design many represented in MoMA's design collection. Developed by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, each chair is crafted in the original materials and is packed in its own wooden shipping crate with a descriptive brochure. From American designers Charles and Ray Eames, this elegant and luxurious example of their molded-plywood technology is a beloved status symbol and design classic. Made of bent plywood, veneer, cast aluminum, and leather, it is reproduced here at a scale of 1:6.
