Shima Scarf

The bold, bright stripes of this fringed scarf will lift your spirits on drab winter days. The knitted, ribbed texture provides comfort and warmth. Designed by Toshio Matsui, the Shima Scarf reflects the Museum’s efforts to document Japanese fabrics, many of which were featured in the 1998 exhibition Structure and Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles. MoMA has a long and storied history with Japan, featuring over 1,000 works in the collection by Japanese artists and designers including objects, tea-related items, textiles, furniture design, films, painting, and sculpture. Dry-clean only.

I LOVE this scarf... it attracts a ton of great compliments. But I'll never order anything online from MoMA again. I got two scarves. Total weight of scarves 10oz/ 275g. Total weight of the packaging? 1.5 lbs!!!! That's 675g! They even included a card that claims that MoMA cares about the environment! Love my new scarves, but wasteful packaging soured my experience.

I bought this for myself. It has all the colours that I would normally wear and so will go with everything. It's not heavy or bulky and feels beautiful against skin. I look forward to wearing it in our winter.

This scarf was a gift I bought for myself! I receive compliments every time I wear it. I have many single color shirts. It (the scarf) goes with each and every one! So many beautiful colors in it. The scarf adds much to my wardrobe. Love it, love it, love it!
