Product Description

Toio Floor Lamp Red

Included in the Museum's collection, this industrial-style lamp from brothers Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was inspired by a car headlamp and is included in their ready-made objects series. The lamp's nickel-plated brass hexagonal stem is height-adjustable, and adorned with fishing rod rings, which hold the electrical cord. The telescopic head provides indirect lighting. The enameled-steel base has a cleat to neatly hold the cord, which includes an on/off foot switch. Includes one 300W PAR 56/MFL incandescent bulb. Made by Flos.

About the Designer

Achille Castiglioni

The legendary Italian architect and industrial designer Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) is renowned worldwide as a teacher and pioneer of twentieth-century design. Best known for his furniture, lighting, and exhibition work, he created finely styled, expressive, highly imaginative designs for items as diverse as vacuum cleaners and bathroom fixtures.
